Everything about this cafe is delightful, sociable, friendly, easy and breezy. Piccante has rearranged the layout of the café now with street access to order a quick takeaway coffee and a bite to eat. Ian is always busy making coffee behind the machine but go there once and he will never forget your order. Breakfast is offered at Piccante every day of the week, and traditional comfort dishes have clever and original twists, like the green eggs and ham with basil pesto and the banana, cinnamon, ricotta and honey on rye toast. Lunch specials vary to include cafe-style sandwiches and rolls, the more substantial lentil or chicken burgers, and a warm lamb salad. Breakfasts range from $4.50 to $13, while lunches start at $7.50.
