This image is of one of the farmers that works for the major coffee grower in Guatemala - Guaxupe. He also owns his own smaller coffee farm.
Guaxape is a large farm in its own right but is also a cooperative, which provides training, equipment, finance and employment to all the farmers on the area.
During the crop season farmers supply their own produce to Guaxupe and are paid per kilo of cherry dependant of quality.
During the off seasons, the farmers use part of their time to work at Guaxupe to get extra income and learn from experts and obtain exposure to new techniques, new machinery and cutting edge fertilizers, pesticides and herbicides.
As small farmers also gain access to services provided by the cooperative, such as health services, education for children, finance, training, equipment hiring and purchasing their activity becomes integrated; forming a stronger community in the region, while allowing them to deliver a higher quality coffee and receive a higher return for their own coffees.
This selection took place on the Philadelphia Farm in Antigua, Guatemala.
When we say our coffee is hand crafted from Crop to Cup this is what we are referring to.
Our farmers in Antigua hand pick the best cherries from the tree that are then processed, roasted and poured into your cup of coffee by an expertly trained barista. This is just one of the reasons why our coffee is so good.

Our Coffee Purchasing Specialist, Moshe Tawill has just returned from a plantation trip in Guatemala to ensure that our relationship with farmers continues to be very strong.
Here are some amazing photos from his latest journey. Some of these plantations are in very remote regions and access requires plenty of patience, time and good resources.
